Questions
Understanding GPS
Global Positioning System
24+ Satellites
6 circular orbital planes at 20,000 Km
12 hour revolution
4 to 10 Satellites visible at a time
All weather world wide coverage
Differential Corrections
GPS position accuracy is now 20 meters 95% of the time due to:
selective availability turned Off,
Differential GPS (DGPS) accuracy is sub-meter.
Local Base station
Coast Guard Beacon System
Wide Area Satellite ( Omnistar , WAAS )

RTK vs. DGPS -- What’s different?
Precision of Solution, ……. Accuracy!!
Number of receivers required
DGPS: Rover only, equipped with beacon or satellite correction service
RTK: At least two receivers required:
Base (Reference) Station (at fixed site)
Rover receiver (on machine)
One base supports unlimited rovers
Radios -- RTK requires radio link between reference and rover
How Accurate is RTK GPS?
FieldPilot/Auto-steer System
RTK enables inch-level accuracy
Autopilot allows you to apply or plant in reduced visibility conditions: dust, night etc
Ensures perfect performance with any operator
Eliminate guess rows
Centimeter-level vertical data collection for topographic mapping
Map field attributes: vehicle paths, A-B lines, transfers to other Auto-steer vehicles
RTK Base Station
Corrections can be used up to a radius of 10miles
Start up with 5 Sats operate with a minimum of 4 satellites.
Turn on and go in less than 2 minutes.
Survey grade positioning allows changing from one base station to another in the middle of a job
Radio Considerations
Advanced Hardware Design
Input Power Conditioning
Industrial Rating
Temperature
Vibration
Shock
Rugged packaging for vehicle mounting
Shock mounted boards
Inertial Gyro
There are no moving parts,
It zeros itself 50 times a second,
It is the combined technology of the inertial gyro and survey grade GPS that makes true repeatability possible.
All this adds up to absolute accuracy
Platform Development
Case SPX4260 released as first high-speed self-propelled platform MAX SPEED 24 mph
Why Integration?
The benefits of integrated systems:
Single user-interface – operator learns to run a single device
Fewer boxes in cab improves visibility and cab organization
No requirement to get multiple consoles to "talk" to each other
Fewer consoles mean lower costs
Less time managing consoles means more time working -improved productivity
Why Integration?
Legacy 6000 Autopilot display
A Daylight Readable color display
A platform which customers can upgrade to enable variable rate control and as-applied logging
Field management capabilities
Fieldware office software for handling data & creating job reports
Payback All Year Round
